A switchyard yardmaster's control tower is relatively new among trackside structures. The prototype for this model, erected in 1952, is located in the Southern Pacific yard at Fresno, California. The tower is the central control point for regulating incoming and outgoing freight; hump movements, etc., by means of instructions relayed to and from the yard office via twin communication tubes. This kit is detailed, with milled wood H-Beams, cast stairs, die-cut green acetate for the tower windows, corrugated sides and many other realistic parts. Get one for each of your yards.
